Created for UHN Foundation’s A Night Out gala, Maya’s Story is a cinematic patient story about living with chronic pain, feeling unheard by the healthcare system, and finally finding hope through UHN’s Mental Health in Medicine Clinic.

For years, Maya lived with constant pain that affected every part of her life — physically, emotionally, and mentally. The film blends documentary-style interviews, cinematic visuals, and performance footage from her aerial hoop training to create something immersive, emotional, and deeply human.

The goal wasn’t to create a typical healthcare video. It was to help audiences truly feel Maya’s experience, and show the impact that compassionate, holistic care can have on someone’s life.
